2 cases of Omicron infection found in Karnataka

The new Omicron virus is believed to be highly transmissible.

As per the health officials, 2 cases of Omicron infection have been found in the state of Karnataka. The Union Health Ministry said until now there have only been 2 cases and efforts are being made to contain the spread and to check the spread of the new Omicron virus. All people who came in contact with the 2 patients are being thoroughly tested and checked.

29 countries in the world have been reported to have detected the new variant of Covid-19.  Considering the risk, the government has also recently decided to cancel international flights which were scheduled to arrive in India. Health officials are urging people to quickly get vaccinated to avoid health risks due to the new variant.

As of now, there is not enough data to know the exact impact of the new variant. However, it is known that is a highly transmittable virus. The WHO (World Health Organization) has asked countries to stay vigilant. In the coming weeks, more news will be announced regarding the travel restrictions for international as well as domestic tourists.
