4 drugs based on Ayurveda are under clinical trial to cure COVID-19

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and AYUSH which is a ministry of Yoga and Ayurveda have started the trials for 4 drug formulations. These drug formulations have been under study and research for a long time. These trials will be done on COVID-19 patients.

The senior officials of the Ministry of AYUSH are hopeful that traditional medicines have the potential to cure the virus. The drug formulation includes Ashwagandha, Yasthimadhu, Guduchi & Giloy. These herbs have been known in traditional medicine to be very effective in eradicating viral infections.

As of now, there is no vaccine that is available to cure the coronavirus. However, many Indian companies are working toward developing different ways to treat patients. Some recent reports were positive for patients who used plasma therapy. Throughout the world, many companies are developing their own vaccines.

Only time will tell if these drug formulations based on the traditional Indian science of Ayurveda is good to cure COVID-19.
