The new skywalk is 242 meters long

New Delhi now has an all-new skywalk that will allow people to walk easily between the New Delhi Railway Station and the metro station. Situated on the Ajmeri Gate side of the railway station, the new skywalk is 242 meters long.

In collaboration with Northern Railway, the dedicated skywalk provides seamless connectivity between the Ajmeri Gate and the New Delhi Metro stations. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation spokesperson said, “Both these stations lie on the Yellow Line and the Airport Express Line. A footbridge, the all-new Skywalk connects the Ajmeri Gate side of the railway station with the metro station nearby. It is a convenient way of travel for people who are traveling by metro. Built to help with the traffic flow, Many facilities, such as CCTV surveillance cameras, escalators, and others, will be present in this skywalk.”

Delhi Metro currently reaches many parts of the city, and this includes the neighboring cities of Noida and Gurgaon as well. It is the most convenient mode of transportation in the Delhi NCR and is a preferred mode of transportation for many arriving at the railway station.

According to a statement issued by the DMRC, “A functional underground metro station just three meters below was required to build the structure. It was also required as there was major traffic movement on Bhavbhuti Marg. Also, to ensure minimum inconvenience to the people, infrastructure, and other buildings nearby, the bridge had to be connected to two pre-existing building structures at the far ends. ”,%2C%20hotels%2C%20and%20other%20destinations.
