Bars will open in Goa and Beach shacks, Cruises and Casinos will remain closed

Unlock 4.0 has started in India and Goa has allowed Bars to be opened from 1st September.

Today, the fourth phase of unlocking was announced in India and all the states are announcing the updates related to the opening of the various businesses and sites. The Chief Minister of Goa, Mr. Pramod Sawant finalized the decision to open certain businesses in the Goa.

According to the decision he made, all bars will be opened in Goa from today (September 1). Social distancing will be in place and has to be practiced as a mandatory practice by all bars. The bar business has suffered the most losses due to the lockdown and there are over 10,000 bars who requested the government to change the lockdown policies to help them.

The government of Goa decided that the Beach Shacks will be allowed to open their businesses starting October which marks the beginning of the tourist season in Goa.

The government has decided to keep the Casinos, Cruises and Pubs closed during the Unlock 4.0 phase. Many Casino owners have expressed their dissatisfaction with the government decision as it hampers their business.

Presently, the beaches of Goa are mostly empty with very few tourists and small businesses that are struggling to survive. In October, we can see a expect things to change as the new tourist season begins.
