Chandigarh-Manali Highway has been shut after the recent landslide in Kinnaur

Due to the landslide yesterday,15 people have died and 16 are still missing.

Yesterday, the landslide occurred in the Kinnaur region of Himachal Pradesh. In this landslide, 15 people have been reported dead as of today and 16 are still missing. The heavy rains are continuing throughout the state of Himachal Pradesh.

The district administration has decided to close the Chandigarh-Manali highway to avoid any situation where people get hurt due to potential landslides. The Chandigarh-Manali highway in the Mandi district has been shut down since 9 pm yesterday (11th August).

It has also been reported that a boulder fell on a truck where the driver was injured. The rains have been falling continuously for the last few days. The district officials are trying to warn as many travelers as possible. Tourists are advised not to travel to Himachal Pradesh in the coming few weeks.
