Chilly Delhi: Temperatures Set to drop low this week

Heavy smog is also expected in the coming weeks.

According to the data given by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) revealed on Tuesday. Delhi is bound to witness one of its coldest days this winter season. The temperature will stoop down to 5°C on December 20.

The minimum temperature will settle at 7°C by Thursday, will reach 6°C on Saturday and Sunday, and the lowest that is 5°C on December 20. The maximum temperature will drop to 21°C with foggy mornings throughout the week. This was mentioned by IMD on Tuesday.

The maximum temperature for Tuesday in the Capital of India was recorded at 23°C, while the relative humidity at 8.30 a.m. was recorded at 95 percent.

Delhi-NCR’s Air Quality Index (AQI) improved slightly for one day but again deteriorated to the ‘very poor’ category. As per the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research’s (SAFAR) the AQI at 9 a.m. was recorded at 335.

The levels of PM 10 and PM 2.5 pollutants in the air were recorded at 274 and 165 in the ‘poor’ and ‘very poor’ categories, respectively.

The air quality is likely to improve significantly from December 16 onwards due to relatively stronger wind,” said the air quality and weather bulletin for Delhi-NCR. But being said that, the air quality is likely to stay in the ‘very poor’ to ‘poor category’ before December 16.
