Entry to Nandi Hills in Karnataka banned after heavy tourist influx

8000 tourists visited the Nandi Hills on a single day

With the recent surge of tourists in all the major tourist destinations, the government has decided to take measures to control the heavy inflow of tourists. Due to the declining number of Covid cases, the tourists have found a great opportunity to use this time to travel to their favorite destinations.

Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand have seen a huge number of incoming tourists which ended up being too stressful as far as traffic is concerned. Many tourists were also seen disregarding all social distancing guidelines and basic safety measures like wearing masks.

A similar situation was observed in the famous Nandi Hills of Karanataka where hundreds of tourists rushed to visit. On Sunday, there were around 8000 people passed through the gates of Nandi Hills. This was right after when the lockdown restrictions got lifted.

After considering the situation, the district administration has decided to ban entry to Nandi Hills during the weekends. The government has warned people not to take things lightly and not to disregard the possibility of the third wave of Covid if the appropriate travel behavior is not observed.
