Experience the Braj Holi Mahotsav from March 12 to 14 in Rajasthan

This festival is conducted by the Rajasthan Tourism Department.

The Rajasthan Tourism Department is all set to host the Braj Holi Mahotsav. Starting from March 12 to 14, this will be a 3-day Holi festival. As per the reports, the locations of the festival will be Deeg, Bharatpur, and Kaman.

Nishant Jain, Director of the Tourism Department, said, “The east of Rajasthan is filled with the distinctive essence of Braj. And the annual Braj Holi festival celebrates its rich traditions.” This festival is conducted by the Rajasthan Tourism Department. He also mentioned that from local sports to folk dance and music, the festival will enthrall visitors of all ages with the colors of Braj.

Popular local sports competitions, such as kabaddi and kho-kho at the Lohagarh Stadium, will precede the Braj Mahotsav. It will be followed by other activities and competitions like Mehendi and rangoli making, mustache and turban tying. On the same day, a Mega Night-Cultural Evening will be organized. This event will be graced by renowned singer Vidya Shah with her melodious voice.

Furthermore, as informed by the Tourism Director, the second day of the festival will be held at Deeg. At the city’s Mela Maidan, popular local sports activities like rope pulling, kabaddi, etc., will be organized. It will be followed by Mehendi art, rangoli-making competitions, mustache, and turban tying events.

At the iconic Palace of Deeg, performances by well-known Kathak dancer Manjari Chaturvedi and Rajasthani folk artists will be one of the main highlights of the day. Also, visitors will witness a glorious, colorful fountain show during the evening.

Jain also stated that various forms of Holi will be played on the closing day. This will include Lathmar Holi, Gulal Holi, Dudh-Dahi Holi, and Laddu Holi in different temples of the city.

Simultaneously, the visitors will also be hooked by the Shobhayatra of Rajasthani folk artists from Gopinath Temple to Vallabh Ji Temple. The conclusion of the festival will be taken up by Krishna Bhajan Sandhya and Braj Rasiya Gaayan.
