Experience the local culinary scene at Panaji beach carnival

Panaji will be included in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in India.

The very first beach carnival is all ready to be hosted by Panaji. By this festival, Panaji is planning to come under UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) list. This festival will be launched and hosted by the city of Panaji in Goa this month. A bouquet of culinary experiences will be focused on this Beach Carnival. The carnival will also help put  ‘foodpreneurs’ on the map, according to Angelo Fernandes, Panaji Corporation Commissioner.

To make the beach carnival a success, Panaji has partnered with FIERCE Kitchens, which is a Culinary Incubator. For food entrepreneurs, a dedicated zone shall be installed. This will be available at the walkway along the beautiful Miramar Beach. It is going to be an awesome opportunity for local entrepreneurs where they can show their innovative food items.

Launched in 2004, The UCCN is a project that promotes cooperation among cities that recognizes creativity as an instrumental part of urban development.

Therefore, the beach carnival will solely and exclusively focus on the culinary experiences of Panji and Goa as a whole. Food entrepreneurs with small businesses who suffered losses during the pandemic will be greatly helped by this initiative. Goa was one of the most important travel cities that was affected by the Pandemic, the travel was seriously halted because of it.

According to Fernandes, this year it was decided to put a spotlight on foodpreneurs. This was done to support and encourage them while offering a platform to showcase their creations. Also, it has not gone unnoticed that many people have turned into foodpreneurs during the Pandemic. They have also opened small-scale, at-home’ businesses offering a variety of food.
