There is still no official news about the starting of the regular international passenger flights.

Union Minister of Tourism in Goa, Mr. Shripad Naik announced on Monday that the foreign tourists who are planning to visit India from regular flights can get the visas starting from 15th November. The Charter flights have already started and visas are being issued. But the regular passenger flights have not yet started.

The charter flights have already started since 15th October and foreign tourists have started to travel to India on these special flights. However, the regular international passenger flights have not yet started. But several government officials have hinted towards the start of the regular passenger flights starting around 15th November.

After 19 months of the closure of tourism activities, this news has brought optimism among the tourism business owners in Goa and other popular tourist destinations. The infrastructure is in place and many initiatives and new projects have been introduced for international travelers.

The Central government has not yet given any official statement or clarity on when exactly the international passenger flights will start. But some routes have started with special flights carrying tourists to India. The visas that are being given are currently free as per the scheme announced by the government. The initial 500,000 tourist visas will be given for free to the international tourists visiting India. This was an initiative created to boost tourism for India.

All the popular destinations in India are preparing to welcome international tourists after a long period of lockdown. The Covid-related restrictions are still there for tourists. These include vaccination certificates and Test reports proving that the tourists are fully vaccinated or have been tested negative in the medical test report.
