Mr. Pramod Sawant, the chief minister of Goa, said last week that the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for the tourists will be announced soon. The SOP will include guidelines for the tourists that will be allowed after 31st May. The fourth phase of the lockdown will end on 31st May and the Chief Minister of Goa wants to start the tourism activities after the lockdown ends.

Last month, the chief minister mentioned the possibility of starting the tourism activities because the state needs the revenue to help the businesses. The state is working hard to make the state COVID-19 free and promote it as a coronavirus-free tourist destination. The chief minister said that the SOP will be announced after 31st May.

Mr. Pramod Sawant said that the domestic tourism will flourish in the beginning. However, the international tourists will take some time to visit Goa. The businesses involved with the tourism are expected to recover slowly.

The recent spike in the number of cases has worried people. The major cause of the increase is due to the fact that people are entering Goa from other states. After being COVID-free state for several months, Goa currently has 66 confirmed cases of COVID patients.

The following interview with the Chief Minister of Goa, Mr. Sawant mentions his plans to make his state Covid-free. He also shows his hope for starting tourism in Goa
