Heavy snowfall in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand

Dhankar village in Himachal and Badrinath in Uttarkhand have received heavy rainfall.

After the severe rainfall, the states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand have received heavy snowfall in the higher altitude regions. As per the news today, the Dhankar village located in the district of Lahaul and Spiti in Himachal Pradesh received heavy snowfall. Badrinath in Uttarakhand has also received significant snowfall earlier today.

The temperatures have dropped drastically. The winter season has officially begun. The winter tourism activities such as skiing and snowboarding are expected to start in the coming month. However, the weather has also disrupted several areas of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

The restoration of the roads will likely be completed in the coming few weeks. The weather is expected to become better after the severe rainfall. Once the weather improves, the transportation and tourist activities will revive. Also, international tourists are expected to visit India which will further boost the tourism economy of India.

Apart from Himachal and Uttarakhand, the capital city of Delhi has also received heavy rainfall yesterday. The northern states of India are likely to become colder in the coming weeks.

The northern states such as Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and some parts of Rajasthan are expected to receive rainfall and cold winds. It is still considered unsafe to travel during the current weather conditions as there are expectations of landslides and heavy snowfall in the hilly regions of North India.
