With only one active COVID-19 positive case left in the state of Himachal Pradesh, it seems like the state will soon be free from the Coronavirus. As per the official data, the total number of reported cases in the state was 40. There has not been an increase in the past week. Out of these reported cases, only 1 death of a Tibetan monk was recorded. This is a good sign for the people of the state. The state government has worked hard in containing the spread of the Coronavirus and is hopeful that the state will be free from the virus.

On the other hand, over 1300 people belonging to Himachal Pradesh are still waiting to come back home. These people have been waiting for the lockdown to end so they can come back home. Yesterday on Sunday (3rd May), these people were brought back. All these people have been tested for symptoms and were ordered by the state government to be quarantined at their homes. Some officers have been assigned to monitor these people so they follow the strict home quarantine protocol. In the coming weeks, it remains to be seen if there are any new cases in the state.

So far, only one patient from the district of Sirmaur is being monitored. The Chief Minister is hopeful that the state will become free of the virus with the collaboration of the people and the administration.
