India added Maldives to the list of countries in the ‘new travel bubble’ for international flights

Medical test report is required by all passengers before travelling to India.

A new air travel bubble has been announced with 6 countries by the Indian Aviation ministry. The air bubble will be a corridor through which international flights from the below mentioned 6 countries will be allowed.

On 13th August, the Maldives as the sixth country was allowed for international travel. Following are the conditions under which the travelers will be allowed to enter Indian borders through air flights:

  1. OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India) cardholders
  2. Travelers on Business Visa.
  3. Medical Tourism related to travelers.
  4. Work Visa related travel

All tourists will have to apply for a valid Indian visa from the Indian Embassy in order to be allowed to travel. All international travelers will have to fill a ‘Self-Declaration’ form 72 hours before traveling and declaring themselves to be COVID negative by submitting a medical report. This test needs to be done within 96 hours before the journey.

The lack of presenting the medical test report will make the travelers liable for a 7-day institutional quarantine which has to be paid by the traveler and another 7 day home quarantine.

The following are some health and safety protocols announced by the Indian government for the International travelers: 

  1. Maintaining social distancing throughout their stay in India.
  2. Thermal scanning will be done whenever and wherever necessary.
  3. Passengers showing any symptoms of infection will be institutionally quarantined until they are free from the symptoms.

 Following are the 6 countries from where the international travelers can enter India: 

  1. Germany
  2. France
  3. United Kingdom
  4. United States
  5. Canada
  6. Maldives
