India is preparing to allow charter flights for international tourists

The first 500,000 tourist visas to India will be granted for free.

The Indian government has recently announced that it will be allowing international tourists to travel to India. With the opening of international tourism, the local economy is expected to revive. Also, as per the announcement, only fully vaccinated tourists are allowed to travel to India.

Further travel restrictions will be relaxed once the Covid cases stay below the safe level. Social distancing measures will be implemented at all the major tourist destinations. The charter flights will be allowed by the end of September.

The number of Covid cases has declined drastically in India. However, there are some states in India that are still struggling to be completely Covid-free. States like Kerala and Maharashtra were the worst-affected states in India. These states have accelerated their vaccination efforts along with social-distancing measures.

On the other hand, many states in India have declared themselves Covid-free. These places are readying their businesses for tourists. Goa, Himachal Pradesh, and Rajasthan are among the most visited states by international tourists. These states are prepared to receive international tourists with all safety and testing measures in place.

The Indian government is planning to allow international tourists in a phased manner. Slowly and gradually the restrictions will be relaxed and international tourism will be fully operational. The Indian government has also announced that the first 50,000 tourist visas will be granted for free.
