Indian coronavirus cases reach a total of 90,000

The tally of coronavirus cases reached more than 90,000 today. Also, the highest spike was recorded in the last 24 hours with 4,987 new cases and 120 deaths. The number of recovered patients in the last 24 hours was 3,956.

Most number of cases are reported from big cities such as Delhi, Pune, Mumbai, and Chennai. The government has increased the pace of testing in the country. However, the latest reported numbers are concerning to the health-care workers.

The spike in the new cases is being directly linked to the fact that people are returning home to their cities. The large number of the migrant labor force who worked in the big cities are now going home. Along with that, many other people who got stuck outside of their native city have recently been allowed to go back home. This all has resulted in the spread of COVID-19.

There were reports where the people who were home quarantined did not follow the rules and which resulted the spread of the virus.
