India’s first ever snow marathon will happen on March 26

There will be three variations of marathons spanning 21 km, 10 km, and 5 km

Reach India and Lahaul and Spiti administration, associated together, are all geared up to organize India’s first-ever Snow Marathon on March 26 in Lahaul. This will be India’s very first, even though there are around 10 such marathons already being held across the globe.

While addressing a press conference at Palchanvery, near Manali, Neeraj Kumar, Lahaul and Spiti Deputy Commissioner said that for the very first time, this exciting snow marathon will be held in the country. He also mentioned that the organizers want this to be an annual affair.

According to the reports, this snow marathon will improve the ability of runners and it will be more challenging than any other already existing format.

This snow Marathon will be divided into four categories. Among these categories, three variations will be half marathons spanning 21 km, 10 km, and 5 km and the fourth one will be in which participants would be covering a distance of 42 km. The administration of Lahaul and Spiti will be providing the logistic, administrative, and monetary support for the event.

This marathon will provide an excellent training ground for tough races across the globe, and the organizers are really hopeful about this fact. Runners from across the country will be able to take part in this country’s first-ever snow marathon. Also, there is no other place better suited than Lahaul to host this marathon.

The medical partner for the events to deal with emergencies will be Fortis Hospital Mohali. Runners from India and abroad will be hosted at this marathon. In case of any emergency, to ensure safety, two modern life-saving ambulances, paramedics, and doctors will be kept ready to ensure safety.
