Kerala to allow domestic tourists from September

September to March is the tourist season for which tourism businesses are preparing themselves.

Considering the upcoming Onam festivities, the government will finally allow tourists to travel to Kerala from the month of September. The minister of tourism also announced that all the health and safety protocols will be imposed on all travel destinations and facilities.

The state government of Kerala has also announced investment packages to revive the tourism sector of Kerala. These packages will help the businesses that got affected by the COVID restrictions.

As per the announcement by the tourism ministry, the requirement to present the COVID negative medical report is mandatory will be required by all tourists. Also, advanced booking for a minimum of 3 days should be done prior to traveling.

Starting September, the tourist season will begin and it will last until March. The hotels and tourism-related businesses have started preparing themselves for the upcoming season.

The rising cases of COVID made Kerala close their borders in the past month. The reopening of tourism will bring in much-needed revenue for the state. The minimum occupancy will be around 50-60% for the hotels and it is expected that the room tariffs might increase.
