Kinnaur cancels all trekking and mountaineering activities due to heavy snowfall

Himachal and Uttarakhand are experiencing heavy snowfall.

Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh is one of the best destinations to experience trekking and mountaineering activities. However, according to the recent announcement by the district administration, all tourist activities involving trekking and mountaineering will be halted until further notice.

The reason for halting tourist activities is the heavy snowfall and bad weather conditions that caused havoc in several places of Himachal and Uttarakhand. Recently, 3 trekkers were killed in a group of 13 trekkers due to bad weather conditions. These trekkers were on the expedition from Rohru to Kinnaur. Since the last two days, the weather has significantly improved and a further improvement in the weather conditions is expected. As of now, the tourists are advised not to travel as many roads are still blocked and several fatal accidents are also being reported.
