Kodagu district of Karnataka bans all Tourism activities

All hotels have been told to cancel the advance bookings of all guests

Kodagu which also known as Coorg is very well known district of Karnataka state. Coorg recently restarted their tourism activities following many other states to encourage domestic tourism.

However today (July 7th 2020), Karnataka government announced that all tourism activities will be stopped immediately considering the rising number of new COVID cases. All homestays, hotels and other hospitality services will have to close down their businesses until further notice.

After the sudden rise in the new cases and one reported COVID death, government decided to take an action. Kodagu district will be closed to all incoming tourists. Hotels have been asked by the government to cancel all their advance bookings.

It is not known for how long the Kodagu government will keep the district borders closed. Since the total number cases are just 92, the government would want to keep that number as low as possible.
