Lockdown in Goa extended till 2nd August

In South Goa Casinos and weekly markets have been closed till 2nd August.

The state government of Goa has issued fresh guidelines for Covid-related-restrictions. According to the recent announcement, the lockdown in Goa has been extended until 2nd August. This lockdown was first imposed on 9th May and has been continuously extended.

The lockdown is not a complete total lockdown rather it is a list of restrictions that are being imposed on the general public. The number of positive cases has been declining steadily in goa. However, mass vaccination drives and lockdown restrictions are still going on in Goa.

  • As per the restrictions, the shops will be allowed to open from 7 am until 7 pm. Also, the following is the list of some facilities that will be allowed to open during the curfew/lockdown period.
  • Pharmacies
  • Restaurants, Cafés, and Bars with 50% occupancy and can open from 7 am till 9 pm.
  • All places of social, political, religious, and academic gatherings will be allowed with 50% capacity. A maximum of 100 people is allowed in a marriage ceremony.
  • Religious sites will only allow the gathering of 15 people.
  • Hospitals, offices, factories are allowed to function as well.
  • Hotels and hospitality businesses are allowed with only 50% occupancy for guests.

In South Goa, the following facilities will remain closed until 2nd August

  • Casinos
  • Community halls, auditoriums, etc.
  • Cruises, waterparks, and entertainment parks.
  • Spas
  • Theatres and cinema halls
  • Schools, colleges, and all educational institutions
  • Weekly flea markets

Also, for the tourists, to travel to Goa you need to produce a Covid-negative test report for the test done at least 72 hours before traveling.
