Mandatory COVID test required for travelers entering Goa

Goa government decided that the test for coronavirus is mandatory for all people entering into Goa. They should have a certificate stating that the traveler is ‘COVID-Negative’. Without this health certificate no one is allowed to enter Goa. Also, The Chief Minister of Goa, Mr. Pramod Sawant said that there will be a different set of guidelines for people coming from different states.

Goa government has been keen on restarting its tourism as soon as possible. However, the sudden increase in the new cases makes the government delay its decision to restart tourism. However, no new cases have been reported since the last two days. The health officials are positive that Goa will become a ‘Green Zone’ again. About 90 percent of the cases that were reported in Goa in the past weeks were from Maharashtra. This state has the highest number of cases in the whole country.

The Chief Minister of Goa has almost finalized the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for restarting the domestic tourism to revive the tourism economy. There are already hotels providing their rooms for rent in Goa. The government is making sure not to let anyone enter without presenting the health certificate.

Goa is already preparing the most popular tourist spots. The officials are considering various ideas in order to create safe travel areas. Several plans are being considered in order to revive the tourism industry of Goa. The government is looking at other countries that have started tourism for preparing their own new travel policies.
