Mumbai to Goa in 6 Hours by Opening New Lane on Expanded Highway

Reduced Travel Time from Mumbai to Goa

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced that one lane of the Mumbai-Goa highway will open before the Ganesh festival next month. This project aims to widen the highway to four lanes, with one lane expected to be completed by the celebration.

The four-lane Goa Mumbai Highway will cut travel time between the cities by about six hours, enhancing tourism and connectivity in the Konkan region. The entire highway is set to be completed by January next year. Shinde also mentioned plans for a new highway between Mumbai and Sindhudurg, similar to the Pune-Mumbai expressway, and highlighted infrastructure developments such as bridge construction and initiatives for local employment.
