Odisha ready to open all tourism destinations starting in October

The government is aggressively promoting 'Odisha by Road' campaign to attract tourists.

The state government of Odisha recently announced that it will be welcoming tourists starting from the first week of October. The government is ready to open all tourism sites throughout the state. The opening of these sites will be done slowly and in several phases to check the readiness of safety protocols.

The Indian GPD has been severely impacted by the lockdown situations caused by the Pandemic. Thousands of people who were employed because of the Tourism industry have lost their sources of livelihood. The government has decided to open the state up for tourism to help revive the businesses and generate revenue for the state.

The Chief Minister of Odisha, Mr. Naveen Patnaik has shown optimism in the potential of Odisha’s tourism sector. He said that there are many historical monuments, landscapes, rich bio-diverse forests, and rich culture available in Odisha. Yesterday, the state celebrated ‘World Tourism Day’ by promoting its tourism campaigns.

According to the Tourism Ministry, there are more than 350 tourist destinations that will be opened in various phases starting in the month of October. Also, Odisha’s own tourism campaign by the name of ‘Odisha by Road’ is being promoted. The campaign invites tourists from neighboring states to visit its various beaches, monuments, and temples by road. The campaign also focused on several tourist destinations such as Bhitarkanika National Park, Chilika Lagoon, and many secret beaches such as Chandipur, Udayput-Talasari Beach, and Dagara beach. In the ‘Odisha by Road’ campaign, a bike rally with various biker groups was organized.

The state of Odisha is aggressively promoting its beaches, hill stations, and various tribal areas as well. The state is rich in its cuisine, cultural heritage, eco-tourism, wildlife, and various art forms.
