Places related to India’s freedom movement will be tourist destinations

Covid restrictions are slowly being removed to facilitate tourism activities.

The tourism department of Karnataka announced that the locations which are relevant to India’s freedom movement will be considered tourist destinations. The necessary arrangements will be made to promote these locations as tourist spots.

The state government of Karnataka has taken several steps to get Karnataka recognized as a tourist hub. A recently UNESCO tag has made Karnataka tourism popular among the tourist community. The declining Omicron cases have made domestic tourists travel even more. The tourism department has lifted weekend restrictions for Mysuru which is considered a tourist hub in Karnataka.

Also, around 770 destinations have been declared relevant to India’s freedom struggle. Some of the destinations include the following:

  • Kittur Fort in Belagavi
  • Nargund Fort
  • Vidurashwatha in Chikkaballapur
  • Isuru in Shivamogga
  • Ankola

The Omicron variant has proven to be quite weak compared to the earlier variants. This has resulted in domestic tourism activities increasing manifold. All the popular tourist destinations have seen a significant rise in the number of visiting tourists in the past few months.
