Pong Lake which is located in the Kangra district of the state of Himachal Pradesh will be used as a site for adventure water sports. The decision was taken to entice tourists to visit the Pong Lake and indulge in the water sports that are available in Goa and Kerala beaches.

The Society of Western Himalayan Mountaineering Institute of Manali has planned the infrastructure required for these activities in the Regional Water Sports Centre of Pong Lake.

It will be an opportunity for the tourists who travel to beach destinations to avail these water sports. Currently, there are 4 electronic foils, 3 Jet skies, a motorboat and a jetovator available. More equipment and motorsport vehicles will be added as the tourism fully revives.

The Regional Water Sports Centre is planning to add more activities related to water sports. The official of the centre also announced the addition of PVC platform to be set up in the lake for the water sport activities. The training of 15 people have already been done in order to help water sport enthusiasts.

Once the tourism fully recovers, it needs to be seen if Pong Lake would attract people for watersport activities. Also, the activities in the still lake will give a different experience as compared to the sea.
