Similipal National Park in Odisha is now open for tourists

The national park has been closed since the month of May earlier this year.

The famous Similipal National Park situated in the Mayurbhanj district of the state of Odisha is now open for tourists. The national park was closed in May earlier this year. It was closed after several members of National Park staff got infected by Covid-19.

After a long time of closure, the Similipal National Park authorities are ready to welcome tourists. According to the recent news, the park will be open from 6 a.m. till 9 a.m. from both the gates of the National Park. After these hours, no entry will be allowed. Also, the number of tourists visiting per day will be limited to a maximum of 35 tourists.

The tourists have to leave the National Par by 4 p.m. Another announcement stated that the use of plastic containers and bottles will be prohibited inside the park. The opening of the National Park is an initiative to boost eco-tourism in the state. Several projects are happening all over India in terms of constructing a sustainable tourism model.

As far as the Covid-19 guidelines are concerned, the thermal screening will be done for all tourists.
