The Manali-Keylong road clears up

The Atal Tunnel connects the two destinations.

Two roads reach up to the Atal Tunnel. One reaches from Manali and one is through the Keylong. Due to the bad weather, the roads have been blocked. But, the road has been cleared up from the Manali route by the Border Roads Organisation. Although, the work is still on to restore the way from the Keylong toward the Atal tunnel so that it can also be connected for the moment of traffic.

Although the road from Manali was cleared up, only 4×4 vehicles are allowed to travel from Manali and Atal tunnel. The road is yet to open for the general public. The heavy ongoing snowfall on the ground is making it even more difficult for the Border Roads Organisation to restore it for the general public.

The public has been advised to avoid using the Manali route to travel to Keylong until the restoration of the road for traffic movement is complete. This advisory was issued by the district administration Lahaul and Spiti. Also, as the road is unfit, the Manali administration restricted the movement of tourists beyond Nehru Kund toward Solang valley from Manali.
