The valley in Kashmir that travel sites overlook!

The Bangus valley is a hidden gem in Kashmir that is worth visiting

Bangus Valley, located in the northern region of Kashmir’s Kupwara district, is a previously conflict-ridden area that has transformed into a picturesque destination. Situated at an elevation of 10,000 feet above sea level, it consists of two main regions – Bod Bangus and Lokut Bangus – characterized by meadows, mountains, and streams. The valley has gained popularity among offbeat travelers due to its lush greenery and rich vegetation.

Accessible by air, train, and road, the closest airport is Sheikh Ul Alam International Airport in Srinagar, while the nearest railway station is Baramulla. Despite underdeveloped roads, local cabs and taxis are available for transportation.

The valley, which offers beauty year-round, is especially vibrant from April to September and transforms into a winter wonderland during the colder months. The government is working to enhance tourism prospects by developing the area further.
