There are more than 10 cultural festivals planned in Rajasthan to boost tourism

The international tourism is still under question due the new Covid-19 variant

Recently, there have been many initiatives taken by the Indian government to help revive the dormant tourism industry. Many tourist destinations have been shutting down their tourism activities since the beginning of the pandemic. However, with the decrease in the number of Covid-19 cases, the tourism scenario seems to be positive.

Rajasthan tourism has employed hundreds of artists, musicians, and craftsmen to help promote the culture and traditional heritage of Rajasthan. However, these artists were forced to search for other means of livelihood during the lockdown period. This year, things have started to show some positive response in terms of increased domestic tourism.

This tourism season in Rajasthan starts with the famous Kumbhalgarh Festival. This 3-day long festival is organized by Rajasthan Tourism and it will promote the art and culture of Rajasthan. It will be held at the famous Kumbhalgarh Fort.

Following is the list of the upcoming events and festivals in Rajasthan.

  • Nagaur Fair in Nagaur
  • Jaipur Literature Festival in Jaipur
  • Kite Festival in Jaipur
  • Ranakpur Festival in Pali
  • Winter Festival in Mount Abu
  • Baneshwar Festival in Dungarpur
  • World Music Festival in Udaipur

There is still a lot of uncertainty in terms of international tourism. The new ‘Omicron’ variant of Covid-19 has made the government more vigilant towards monitoring and containing the spread of Covid-19. International tourists are also decided to change their travel plans due to the risk of Covid-19 infection. Only time will tell if the winter season would be successful in Rajasthan.
