The second unlock phase will end on July 31st and the third phase will begin from 1st August. The government is currently forming new health and safety protocols that will be implemented from the 1st of August.

In this third phase, the authorities are considering the opening of gyms, cinema halls, and other places of social gathering. However, some states which are currently surging in the number of new COVID cases will keep the lockdown imposed on their districts. Currently, the total number of cases in India has reached 1.4 million.

The cinema halls have been shut down for almost 6 months along with gyms and other social gathering places. The metro train is also being considered to be opened in Delhi. However, some containment zone stations will remain closed. The decision by the Delhi government to open Metro services was taken due to the upcoming festival season.

Also, in the coming weeks, relaxations in the international and domestic air travel is expected as well. FICCI also is known as the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry has also suggested the opening of various tourist destinations, monuments, hotels, bars, and restaurants as well. It is expected that conferences and other social gatherings will be allowed.

These relaxations will positively impact the tourism and economy of India. However, a balance needs to be struck between the safety of the people and the economy.
