Weekend curfew announced in Delhi due the Covid Surge

The new omicron cases are surging since the past few weeks.

The Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi recently announced that there will be a weekend curfew starting this weekend. This decision was taken after observing the sudden surge of new Covid-19 cases. According to some health experts, the third wave of Covid is already happening and more restrictions can be expected to be imposed in the coming weeks.

The buses and metro trains will operate with limited capacity. All government offices will also operate with 50% capacity. Since the detection of the new Omicron variant, the number of cases has been surging over the past few weeks.

The total number of Omicron cases has reached 1892 from 23 states of India so far. The new data is still coming in. Many states such as Goa, Kerala, Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh are revising their travel guidelines for tourists.
