Zika Virus cases found in the states of Kerala and Maharashtra

The states of Kerala and Maharashtra have been the hotspots for Covid and Zika virus.

After the stress and scare of the upcoming possible third wave of Covid-19 along with the spread of the new Covid-19 cases, a new threat of the Zika virus has cropped up. Kerala and Maharashtra have always been the hotspots for Covid-19 cases in India. The spread has not stopped in Kerala and Maharashtra since the beginning of the Covid pandemic.

Yesterday, the first Zika virus case was detected in the state of Maharashtra in a woman who recovered successfully. But the stress of the Zika virus is still there. The family members of the woman were not found to be symptomatic.

On the other hand, there is a total number of 63 people who got infected with the Zika virus. According to health officials, the symptoms of the Zika virus are similar to that of Covid-19. It is also a cause of concern among health officials as the virus is considered dangerous to pregnant women.

The Zika virus is spread through mosquito bites and the state health officials are working towards removing the breeding conditions for the mosquitos. In the past few months, the number of cases of Zika virus has increased.
